Been so busy,

I know I haven't post in ages, life has been so busy lately, and now that Christmas is creeping up on us, its even becoming more busy,
It seems that lately all I've been doing is cleaning, we finally got the fall cleaning done at home, but then we're out helping other people, not to mention that mom finally talked me into rearranging some of the rooms in the house, so after a full day of trucking heavy furniture up and down stairs, I was almost pooped for a week, LOL.
I've also been busy sewing tiny clothing, not baby, I wish....instead tiny doll clothing, seems that it's not enough that little girls always outgrow their clothing they then want wardrobes for their dolly's,
but hey it's fun.
Unfortunately all that and so much more has kept me away from my scrap table way too much, I'm missing scrapping so much that I'm going to put aside everything this weekend and just scrap, I have done a few cards, and some major re-arranging in my scrap room, seems like that's a non-ending job, lol.
Here's a few cards I've done.
This one took me forever to make, I was imitating a tag card, but kind of decided to create my own version, not quite sure if I'm happy with the results, but it did give me any opportunity to play with my cool new Cuddlebug dies.
For this one I mostly used scraps, lately I've been making a pact that I'm not going to use anything else but scraps or leftover items on cards, so far it's working. The Christmas ones were done mostly with my Silhouette cutter, I love that little penguin, so cute,
The other is a shaker card that took me forever, I hate making these kinds of cards, but it was for a challenge, so I decided to turn it into a gift.

Purr-fect

Kids do the cutest things, I just couldn't resist scrapping this adorable picture of my niece Christianna, kept the layout simple since the picture speaks for its self.

August 21st My latest work

I've been so bad with sharing lately, the summer has been fairly busy, but there is always time for scrapping, isn't there?
I wanted to share a few cards I created recently for the ABC crop over at My Sketch World.

This one was a scraplift for a Fiskateer challenge, I love the way it turned out, cuddlebug embossed swiss dot top, cuddlebug diecut heart, border punch and Silhouette print and cut butterfly.
A couple of layouts, this is my oldest niece when she was maybe 18-24 months old, she was visiting grandmas during the summer and as we discovered not a big fan of bugs. The ewww expression on her face was priceless.
Sugar and Spice and everything nice, what's more sweeter than adorable little girls dressed in pink,
My little niece Trina last summer.

Lately

I haven't posted in a while, been so busy with work and all that I didn't have to energy to post anything even when I did find computer time, not to mention I haven't been very scrappy lately.
I decided to post a few grad cards I did late June,
I made these cards for my sister-in-law, love the way they turned out, the first one is my first attempt at using masks and glimmer mists to create my own background, the last one contains a rose I cut with my silhouette. Not only did I cut it, but I created the file, cut and assembled an embossing folder to use in my cuddlebug so I can emboss details on the roses. Was alot of work but well worth it, I love roses and so wanted a way to create my very own unique ones.
I need to find more time to devote to my scrapbooks, making cards is fun, but I would so love to get at least one of the dozen albums I'm currently working on done, LOL.

Mom's garden and flower pots are so beautiful this year, I thought I might share a few pictures.

May 27

Things have been kind of crazy around here, not only have we been busy with spring cleaning, gardening and other spring farm work, but lately we've been through some pretty rough family times.
But thinking of happy moments I wanted to share a few precious pictures of my precious nieces,

My dad got some new ducklings, arn't they cute, the nieces don't seem to think so, LOL,
I guess even something so cute, small and fluffy is scary to little babies.

May 1st

And some more Birthday cakes,
the first is a hockey sign cake mom made for her 15 year old nephew,

Grandma shares a birthday with our birthday boy,
mom wanted to make her a special cake all on her own,
so I cut her a rose shape with my silhouette,
Think it turned out real well.
Grandma's birthday is going to be bittersweet this year with Grandpa being gone, hopefully this cake will cheer her up a little.

April 5----Some of my latest work

My adorable little niece is such a happy go luck kid, she'll entertain herself for hours by walking around the house laughing and clapping to herself,
When I made this layout, I tried to match my papers and colors to her outfit, but unfortunately I searched twice through my paper stash and couldn't even find one gray themed paper, let alone one that matched, gonna have to buy some, LOL
I created my own with a light gray marbled paper and felt markers, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for, so I had to go with blue instead, didn't turn out too bad after all,
The little bear on this one is special, awhile ago I brought a Sizzix die set of cut cuddly animals, my mom was making some little moccasins for the babies when I came up with the idea of cutting her leather animals to use on the fronts, I found that the cuddle-bug dies worked better than the sizzix ones but I did mange to cut a few, the bear on this page is a leftover that has been sitting on my scrap table since then looking for a home.
This layout is special to me for a number of reasons, one it's my favorite color theme, LOL, second its of my darling nieces and my baby sister. The picture was taken on Mona's big day, my brother and sister were visiting with their families and it seems Mona was trying to hold all those bundles of joy at once, lol
Unfortually our adorable Sophie wasn't visitng with her family and Nathania couldn't visit at the time but I just couldn't resist adding a pic of them, after all the theme of the layout is Mona's nieces, Christianna didn't happen to be in the house at the time the picture was taken, but I included a picture of her playing with Cierria.

Ribbon Storage

So many times on the boards I frequent the question, "How do you store your ribbon?" gets asked.
I decided to share my idea, I've tried pretty much anything, from storing it in jars, containers, spools lined up in drawers, to separate colors in boxes. Each idea only lasted a while. I came up with this while also trying to store my lace in my sewing room. Most lace comes on these hard cardboard cards, so I thought wouldn't this also be a great way to store my ribbon? So I got hold of one of those great plastic containers on wheels, this one has 3 deep drawers,

I cut my own card from the hardest cardboard I could find and wove my ribbons onto it color sorted, its a lot of work but worth it in the end, not only is it convenient but it's also neat and tidy.

She looks so cute, our very own bunny.

Project 365/52 February week 4 to March week 3

February week 4
I've been so busy lately that I just didn't have think about posting my weekly photos let alone do it.
These are pictures I took of my sisters birthday cake and party foods she and my mom made for her birthday on the 27th of February. Mom found the recipie for these cute little butterfly cookies in a magazine and couldn't resist making them for Mona, after all she is a big butterfly fan. The cake is poppyseed, her favorite.

March week 1
.My tiny niece Christianna loves my mom's large yarn balls that she uses to hook large rugs, when she gets into them she's like a little kitten, all wrapped up in the tangle she creates.

March week 2
On the 7th of March we visited my brother's family, I took these pictures of his youngest daughter, Cierria during dinner. She looked so cute playing while we ate that I couldn't resist sharing these pictures.

March week 3
This week I decided to share some of my favorite things,
What is more irresistible than a good cup of coffee and chocolate,
This is my bamboo plant, not only is this my favorite plant but it also hold special memories in my heart, they were given as a gift from a dear friend of the family who has since passed on.

I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of my craft room, one is of my punchie and scissor holder and the other is a top view of part of my craft table.

Project 365/52 Febuary--week 2 & 3

I just love these recent pictures I took of my beautiful niece Christianna, she looks so cute in her blue Sunday dress. Her favorite toy when visiting Grandma, Grandpa and her auntie's house are these large stringed beads, or should I say she loves playing with the shoe string they are stringed with. I can't believe how fast she's growing.

My darling little niece loves to jump, or should I say lives to jump, LOL. She has so much fun in the jumper hanging from the rafters in our basement sewing room. (Excuse the mess, its harder to keep a sewing room clean than it is a craft room, LOL)
I took this picture yesterday afternoon while we were taking care of her because her mom was busy in the kitchen. She is so amazing to watch jumping up and down, she's such a little bundle of energy.

Project 365/52 Febuary--week 1

Can you believe we're already in the second month of the new year. Last month I did a variety of pictures of life around me, I did some of my beautiful nieces twice and once of the weather and the last week of one of my mom's hobbies, cake decorating.
My mom has been decorating cakes pretty much all her life, and has always decorated any family wedding cakes as well as the occasional graduation and birthday cake. This kind of began when my oldest sister (before she married and left home) started decorating Hockey sign themed birthday cakes, Mom helped and thought her the basics, but after she married and little Trina was born the craft kind of fell back into mom's lap. I guess you could say this is kind of a family project, I usually search for the picture, (that is if one isn't supplied with the request for the cake), enlarge it, mom bakes the cake, I sometimes help cut the pattern and cake into shape, mom decorates and me or little sis end up cleaning up the mess.

This is a mom's latest project, a cake she decorated on Friday for a baby's 1st birthday, It turned out really great, I can't believe how well all the details worked out. Love the little soccer ball.

365/52 week 4 photos for January

I'm a little late posting this because for some reason I couldn't sign into my blog for the past couple of days. Anyway here's my final photo for the month of January.
My mom decorates cakes, so usally she's the one who ends up doing all the special birthday cakes.
This one she did for a young man who turned 15 a few days ago.

My newest cards

I tried a few new techinques, for this one I stamped trees, die-cut flowers and created a scene.
I tried out my new stamps here, I stamped the background, cut it into squares and sewed the whole thing together.
Here I created stamped blocks, the paragraph is a digital stamp the they gave us over at MSW for a contest this month, I cut the flowers out of wallpaper and attached them 3D.
