New Cakes
My mom and I have been busy lately, in the last month we've made 3 big cakes, 2 wedding and one birthday for my niece, and 2 smaller flat cakes for my nephew's 1st birthday and his little cousin.
For this one the bride requested water lilies and dragonflies, we had never done water lilies before so they were a cool challenge, I decided to go a step farther and add the bull rushes and they add just the right finishing touch. The dragon flies are made with my cricut cake, but the flowers and leaves are hand crafted,
the ribbon is store brought.
This one we created for my sister for her new sister-in-law, she wanted everything rustic, we didn't believe that this cake was going to turn out as well as it did, sorry for the bad pic, I'm still trying to get a better one, I made butterflies with my cake machine and then me and my sister hand painted them, I cut little flourishes for centerpieces and we added gum-paste hydrangea flowers, the centerpieces are finished off with artificial moss. we created the ribbon with fondant because we couldn't find the right color ribbon, and added a chained hemp twine border at the bottom which came together in a bow. The cakes rest on a burlap doily and natural tree stump.
My niece's 5th birthday cake, 5 is a big milestone for us, and her mom decided she needed a wow cake for this occasion, she insisted much to my denial that I could sculpt a Tinkerbell out of gum-paste, I keep telling her that how it'll turn out is what she'll get, but I have to admit for the first try it turned out pretty good, the smaller fairy's are cut with the cricut cake, as is the grass border, the flowers and vines are hand made, the top is a covered rotation stand decorated with gum-paste borders and details created to look like the music box Tinkerbell found in the movie.
A close up of the figurine, my sister created the hammer and bowl. she also painted in the face, the wings I made with plastic film and a gold marker.
last but not least the adorable birthday girl with her cake.
This one we made for my nephew's 1st birthday.
And this one we made for his little cousin who's only a week younger.

Paper shoe
I created this cute shoe using a cutting they offered free over at SVGcuts this week. here
I love finding new and unique ways to use my creativity, and this shoe was a perfect opportunity, I used My Minds Eye paper, Pink coverstock, die-cut and sculptured a paper rose, and added a bead border and a large bow.
Isn't it the coolest thing, it'll be a great addition to the decor in my craft room. #cricut #imadeit
